# Filtering Deductions

What operators are supported for filtering the Deductions API

The following operators are supported to filter data on the Deductions API. The Deductions API interacts with employee-level recurring deductions in the Payroll/HR module. These deductions withhold funds from the employee on each paycheck. The most popular filtering is done by deduction code. The **code** field represents the deduction code. Sample deductions for an employee are **401K** (retirement), **MED** (medical) and **DNTL** (dental). Deduction codes can be customized per client. Use the Company Codes API to retrieve a list of valid deduction codes.
